Wear It Wild™ 2-Year Color Warranty
We build our qualifying metal pieces to keep up with you. If the finish doesn't, that's on us.
Every piece marked with the Wear It Wild™ badge is covered by a two-year limited warranty against fading, noticeable color change, and plating loss under normal wear.
If the covered finish fails within two years of the original purchase date, we'll make it right.
Important: Pieces marked Water Resistant are not automatically covered by this warranty. Water Resistant describes how a piece is intended to handle everyday exposure to moisture, but only products specifically marked with the Wear It Wild™ badge qualify for the two-year finish warranty.
Who provides this warranty
This limited warranty is provided by Prickly Pairs. We are the warrantor. Claims are handled by us directly, not by our manufacturers or suppliers.
What's covered
- Fading or noticeable color change in the gold or silver finish
- Unexpected discoloration of the plated finish during normal wear
- Premature plating loss, peeling, or finish failure that is not caused by abrasion, physical damage, or improper care
What's not covered
- Water Resistant pieces that do not carry the Wear It Wild™ badge
- Natural stones, gemstones, freshwater pearls, shell, resin, and other non-metal materials
- Cord, elastic, leather, and other non-metal components
- Scratches, dents, bends, or breakage
- Damage caused by chemicals, cleaning products, perfume, lotion, hairspray, sunscreen, or other substances outside the care recommendations for that piece
- Damage caused by improper cleaning, storage, or abrasive polishing products
- Damage caused by alterations, repairs, or modifications not performed by Prickly Pairs
- Damage from wear that falls outside the care instructions for that piece. Please refer to the care instructions on the product page and view are full care guide here.
- Normal loss of shine that can be restored with gentle cleaning
- Lost or stolen items
- Items purchased from anyone other than Prickly Pairs or an authorized Prickly Pairs retailer
- Items purchased as final sale, sample sale, or clearance, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase
What "normal wear" means
Care expectations depend on which badge your piece carries.
Wear It Wild™ pieces (covered by this warranty)
These pieces are built for real water exposure, including pools, chlorine, and salt water. Normal wear means:
- Swimming, showering, and sweating in your piece is fine
- After exposure to chlorine or salt water, rinse with fresh water and pat dry — don't let it air-dry on your skin
- Applying perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hairspray before putting jewelry on, not after
- Storing pieces dry and separately, not loose in a pile
- Cleaning only with a soft dry cloth or mild soap and water, never with polishing compounds or abrasives
Water Resistant pieces (not covered by this warranty)
These pieces handle everyday moisture — rain, sweat, handwashing, showering — but are not built for chlorine or salt water. For these pieces:
- Avoid pools, hot tubs, and ocean or salt water
- Dry the piece with a soft cloth any time it gets wet
- Applying perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hairspray before putting jewelry on, not after
- Storing pieces dry and separately, not loose in a pile
Water Resistant pieces aren't covered by the Wear It Wild warranty, so this is about keeping the finish looking its best, not a condition of coverage.
Some pieces are designed to handle more or less exposure than their badge's baseline, so always check the care instructions on that piece's product page — the product page governs where it says otherwise.
Which pieces qualify
Look for the Wear It Wild™ badge on the product page.
The badge appears on qualifying all-metal pieces and, in some cases, on qualifying metal components of mixed-material designs.
If a piece combines covered metal with pearls, gemstones, natural stones, or other materials, the warranty applies only to the qualifying metal components.
Water Resistant does not mean Wear It Wild™ covered. If a product is labeled Water Resistant but does not display the Wear It Wild™ badge, it is not included in the two-year finish warranty.
Artisan Collection pieces are handmade from materials including copper, brass, wood, leather, and mixed metals. Many of these materials naturally change or develop a patina over time, which is part of their character rather than a defect. Artisan pieces are not covered by the Wear It Wild™ warranty unless specifically stated otherwise.
Who is covered
This warranty covers the original purchaser, or the person who received the piece as a gift from the original purchaser. It does not transfer to anyone who buys or receives the piece secondhand.
How to make a claim
Email us at hello@pricklypairs.com within two years of the original purchase date with:
- Your order number or another form of proof of purchase
- A few clear photos showing the issue
Gifts are covered too — we'll just need enough information to verify the original purchase.
We'll review your claim and get back to you within two business days.
If your claim is approved
- We'll replace the item with the same piece when available.
- If the original piece is no longer available, we'll offer either a comparable piece of equal or lesser value, or store credit in the amount actually paid for the original item.
- We cover shipping on the replacement piece to you. If we ask you to return the original piece first, we'll provide a prepaid label.
- Warranty claims are resolved through replacement, comparable substitution, or store credit. They do not provide a cash refund.
Limits on replacement
Each item is eligible for one warranty replacement. Once we've replaced a piece under this warranty, that item's coverage is complete.
Replacement pieces are provided as a courtesy resolution and are not covered by a new or continuing Wear It Wild™ warranty. The two-year period does not restart, and a replacement piece is not itself eligible for a warranty claim.
If the same item appeared multiple times in your order, each individual item is eligible for one replacement.
